Pro Bowl Ballot Review: AFC

I was correct in 26 out of 42 possible selections. I'll review the misses below.

Selection My Pick
QB Tom Brady Ben Roethlisberger
Brady made based upon reputation. Big Ben has had the better season.

RB Ray Rice Thomas Jones
Can't dispute this one. He was a player I considered for the final RB spot.

FB LeRon McClain Ahmad Hall
Understand the selection. He's the bigger name, and Rice has had a phenominal season.

WR Brandon Marshall Randy Moss
21 catch game propelled his candidacy, while Moss couldn't recover from the Carolina debacle.

C Nick Mangold Kevin Mawae
Jeff Saturday Kyle Cook
Solid selections. I probably should have chosen one of them over Cook, even though he's worthy.

G Alan Faneca Ben Grubbs
Logan Mankins Justin Smiley
Kris Dielman Chris Kuper
Faneca and Mankins made it based upon reputation. Dielman was fourth on my list. Grubbs and Smiley should have had more consideration.

T Jake Long Michael Roos
Joe Thomas Ryan Diem

Roos deserved it over long. Thomas has been solid, despite Cleveland's woes. Not a bad group.

DE Mario Williams Tamba Hali
I did this to myself. Hali was a linebacker on the ballot, but an end in my stats. Williams is a good pick.

DT Vince Wilfork John Henderson
Wilfork isn't a bad selection. It was a little more reputation-based, but he and Henderson are close.

ILB DeMeco Ryans David Harris
Harris was totally overlooked. Ryans is a fine player, and should go to several more Pro Bowls, but Harris was robbed. He's been the best inside lineback in the game this season.

CB Champ Bailey Jonathan Joseph
Good pick. Both Cincy corners cancelled themselves out, but one was deserving of a selection.

FS Ed Reed Antoine Bethea
Jairus Byrd

Neglected a second selection, though I probably would have gone with Byrd. Reed missed too much time and was name-based. Bethea was the key to the Colts secondary.
